The Krishna Restaurant Celebrates 20 Years!

Bollywood Dancers
This year the Krishna has celebrated its 20th birthday with a bang!  Over the course of this year we have seen many changes in the restaurant... firstly with our new 5 star Head Chef, Waqaar who has joined us from the Taj Group in India, bringing exciting new flavours to our menu.  Our new Indian menu includes all the old favourites, and for those looking to try something different, we have introduced a variety of new authentic Indian dishes.

Perhaps the biggest change in the last year has been the introduction of our new Oriental menu, which has already proven to be a great success.  Our Oriental chef, Basanta has created a sophisticated menu of Chinese, Thai and Indo-fusion cuisine.

To celebrate our 20th birthday and to raise money for Future Hope Foundation, the Krishna hosted an Indian Bazaar on the 14th August.  The building was transformed in to an Indian market place, with a variety of stalls selling fresh mangoes, spices and a colourful selection of Indian merchandise, including beautiful scarfs, textiles and handmade paper.  Visitors had the opportunity to watch live cooking demonstrations, sari demonstrations and Bollywood dance performances.  Overall, the event was a huge success, raising over £600 for Future Hope.  Our thanks go out to the Headcorn Scouts for all their hard work and help in making the day such a success.

Here are some of the photos from the Indian Bazaar...
